Plant your Carissa Holly in well-drained, slightly acidic soil. Water regularly until established, and supplement during extreme heat. Fertilize if desired in the spring.
If planning on planting an informal hedge or foundational planting, plant the shrubs at least 5 feet apart center-to-center. For a denser hedge, space Carissa Holly 3 to 4 feet on center.
